Japanese Startups and Regg3 at the X-Hub Tokyo Event

On February 13, the X-Hub Tokyo Startup Demo Day took place in London, an event organized by CISL* and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to showcase some of Japan’s most innovative startups. The initiative highlighted cutting-edge solutions in biodiversity, plant-based food technologies, digital twins, assistive technologies, and health & wellness innovations.

The event provided a unique opportunity to explore technologies capable of generating real impact in sustainability and innovation while fostering new collaborations between entrepreneurs, companies, and investors.

Startups featured
During the event, eight Japanese startups that are redefining the innovation landscape through cutting-edge technologies in the areas of energy, biodiversity, artificial intelligence, and robotics participated.

Thermalytica Inc. - Using its patented TIISA® technology, Thermalytica is developing advanced thermal materials to improve energy efficiency in key sectors such as aviation, electric mobility, and sustainable construction. The goal is to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, contributing to the transition to a low-emission economy.

CalTa Inc. – A spin-off of East Japan Railway Company, CalTa has developed TRANCITY, a digital twin platform that revolutionizes urban infrastructure management. By integrating real-time data, the platform helps cities and businesses optimize resources and operations, making metropolitan areas smarter and more efficient.

Kinish – This foodtech startup leverages plant molecular agriculture to create sustainable food alternatives. Combining biotechnology and agricultural innovation, Kinish develops plant-based ingredients with a strong focus on taste, aesthetics, and nutrition, promoting a more sustainable food system without compromising quality or culinary experience.

Think Nature Inc. – A key player in biodiversity-focused sustainability strategies, Think Nature provides AI-powered SaaS solutions for monitoring and assessing environmental impact. Their tools help companies comply with global sustainability standards and implement more effective ecosystem protection strategies.

Innophys – In the field of robotics applied to health and wellness, Innophys develops innovative exoskeletons designed to support workers, the elderly, and people with reduced mobility. Their flagship device, Muscle Suit, uses a pneumatic pressure mechanism to reduce physical exertion, improving users' quality of life and autonomy.

Mori Biodiversity Solutions – Founded in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, this startup focuses on biodiversity research and solutions. Through advanced ecological studies, Mori Biodiversity Solutions develops conservation and ecosystem restoration strategies, providing science-based tools for nature preservation.

SORA Technology – A pioneer in aerial technology for security and global development, SORA Technology deploys advanced drones for environmental monitoring, community protection, and emergency management. The company is actively working in developing countries, helping create safer and more prosperous societies through innovative aerospace technology.

Digireha, Inc. – This startup develops innovative rehabilitation solutions, combining digital art and sensors to make therapy more interactive and personalized. Their tools enhance patient engagement and optimize the motor recovery process, benefiting children and the elderly.

The X-Hub Tokyo Startup Demo Day was more than an opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technologies: it was a time for discussion, inspiration and growth.
